Royal Mail had a strategic response to the key drivers for delivering energy savings and this included a commitment of a 20% energy & CO2 reduction by 2020. Maloney Associates were employed to deliver Investment Grade Audits across their portfolio.
What were the project aims?
- Produce and deliver a strategic response strategy to produce the target energy saving.
What were the project results?
- MA produced a Reduce Strand of the Energy Strategy, which identified a road map for developing energy technologies and opportunities derived from an Energy Review and Energy Audits
- Investment Grade Energy Audits were conducted across 14
- 27 Energy Conservation Measures were identified, including Major LED lighting replacement, lighting controls, BEMS improvements and voltage optimisation
- Building Energy Management System (BEMS) audits and optimisation to over 90 sites which resulted in savings over £2m
- LED Lighting Replacement – this was the largest replacement programme delivered in the UK
- Identified total energy reduction of 15% p.a
- Heating plant operation reduced by >20% in Nottingham DC
- LED lighting introduced measured savings between 60-80%
Furthermore, the projects mentioned above were undertaken with no operational disruption.
